Getting Around Dubai
By Taxis
Taxis are a very inexpensive way to get around the city. Starting meter range between AED 3.00 during day time to AED 3.50 during night time. The running meter charges AED 1.6 every 1 kilometer. A trip to or from the airport typically costs AED 20.00.
Be sure to carry around a general map of the city or a print out from the Google mapping service of the areas you wish to visit.

By Busses
Bus rides are available throughout the city and the main bus stations are located in Deira near the Gold Souq (market), and in Bur Dubai in Al Ghubaiba bus station. A Bus route is available between the Dubai International Airport (DXB) and the Deira bus station every 30 minutes.
A monthly bus pass known as tawfeer allows limitless bus rides throughout Dubai.
The fare ranges between AED 1.50 and AED 3.0 depending on the distance to traveled. back to top
By Water Taxis
Water Taxis (abras) are used to cross the Dubai
creek between Bur Dubai and Deira. There are a number of
stations located on either side of the Dubai Creek. The
boat rides are efficient, inexpensive, and offer great
views of the Dubai city. They cost around AED 1.00 per
passenger.

By Rental Cars
Rental Cars offer an inexpensive way to transport in Dubai. The rates are usually cheap and inexpensive gas prices in Dubai make this mode of transportation a favorite for most travelers to Dubai.
An International Driving Permit or license may be required to rent a car. The driving permit can be obtained for those who carry a US, UK, or Australian driver licenses at the licensing office in the City Center mall. back to top
